Basic Course - Single Rope Technique
This document is intended to provide a basic curriculum and guidelines for an Single Rope Technique Basic Course. These guidelines are not intended to prescribe correct or incorrect methods of climbing by independent climbers - rather they are intended to describe the minimum understanding of an SRT Basic Course graduate. This is a living document that will evolve as GOTC adopts changes to its content.
Basic Course - Double Rope Technique
This document represents the recommended minimum content for a basic tree-climbing course using doubled-rope techniques. It was compiled from the course outlines of eleven respected, experienced instructors of basic tree climbing technique.
Guidelines for Program Climbs
A Program Climb is a facilitated, group or open climb led by a qualified facilitator or instructor. The program climb leader is responsible for informing the participants of the rules of the climb and is responsible for the safety of the participating climbers. These are minimum guidelines. Individual groves (tree climbing schools, organizations, businesses, communities, etc.) may exceed these guidelines as they wish.
