Overview

I’m really looking forward to the 2026 Tree Climbers Rendezvous in Korea. When I worked at Boeing, I had the chance to visit Korea several times, and it was always a great experience. I stayed at a hotel right on Haeundae Beach near Busan, which had amazing views. Each day, we’d head over to Korean Air for work, but evenings and weekends were wide open for exploring. The boardwalk restaurants served some of the freshest seafood I’ve ever had—just fantastic! Busan is such a vibrant city in a friendly, spirited country. I loved getting out to parks and trails, whether I was going solo or hanging out with colleagues from KA and Boeing.

One of my journeys was by train to a small shop about 3 hours WNW of Busan. The countryside is wonderful and I got to visit a traditional village! The 2026 Tree Climbers Rendezvous Korea takes place in the hills north of Naju. Our hosts, SeeSaw and the National Center for Forest Activities, Naju, will open the grounds and the acres of trees for climbing. These are not the giants like Silver Falls or the Redwoods. They are 10 to 25 meter oak (6 species), maple (3 species), and pine (3 species) trees that are both challenging and friendly. And there are SO MANY of them. The fall colors will be delightful. I hope you will join us!!

See you in Korea this October!
